Griffon Fauve de Bretagne Breed Information

Having its origin in France, Griffon Fauve de Bretagne is one of the earliest breeds of French Hounds. It is estimated that Griffon Fauve de Bretagne's ancestors date back to the 1500s. It is a medium-sized dog weighing around 40-49 lbs. (18-22 kg) and its height ranges between 19 inches and 22 inches.

Back in the day, Griffon Fauve de Bretagne was bred to guard against wolves and wild boars. This breed is widely famous as a hunter dog particularly, but it's also kept as a housedog thanks to its liveliness and versatility.

Griffon Fauve de Bretagne has a life expectancy ranging from 12 to 13 years.

Dark brown eyes, black nose, broad chest, and red-wheaten coat are some of its physical characteristics.

Th Basset Fauve de Bretagne is the short-legged cousin of Griffon Fauve de Bretagne.
